Engaging traditional Japanese craftmanship

The project seamlessly integrates with the existing structure by utilizing local craftsmanship, preserving traditional techniques and materials that harmonize with the original design. Careful orientation and architectural elements were employed to redirect natural sunlight, enhancing interior illumination and energy efficiency while maintaining comfort throughout the space. Sami Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Innovation

This project explores the restoration of old Sami ruins in Northern Norway, drawing inspiration from traditional Sami architecture. By carefully studying historical craftsmanship and joinery techniques passed down through generations, the project revitalizes these heritage sites using sustainable practices. Emphasizing responsible use of local resources, it integrates modern technologies with a focus on reducing resource consumption. The design incorporates disassembly techniques, allowing future reuse and adaptability, thereby honoring Sami cultural values while promoting environmentally conscious construction.
